What time does school start?

  • School starts at 8:00 AM.
  • Drop off: 7:45–8:10 AM.
  • School ends at 3:00 PM; pick up: 2:50–3:15 PM.
  • Fridays: School ends at 2:00 PM; pick up: 1:50–2:15 PM.

What is the school dress code?

  • Uniform colors: navy, black, white, yellow, light blue, green.
  • Uniforms available at Old Navy, Lands End, Target, Children’s Place, etc.
  • Local logo embroidery/screenprinting: Lynn’s Uniform Shop, Rome

What are the options for lunch?

  • Hot lunch available daily for $6.25.
  • Menu: Check the calendar on the John L. Coble website.
  • Money can be added via FACTS Prepay Account.
  • No refrigeration/heating for packed lunches.
  • Water bottle refilling stations available.
  • Peanut-free campus.

How do I pay my student’s bill?

Is there anything special I need to send to school with my student?

  • For PreK/Kindergarten: rain boots, rain jacket, water bottle, change of clothes (can be kept in classroom).

If school is cancelled or delayed due to weather or illness, how will I be alerted?

  • You will receive a text or email based on your communication preferences selected during registration.

If my child is sick, what do I do?

  • If your child is sick, they must be fever/symptom-free for 24 hours before returning.
  • Covid/Strep test may be required after exposure.
  • Contact your teacher on Parent Square and let them know.

Dates to remember:

  • Spring, fall, and winter breaks, plus holidays.
  • Follows Gordon County School system for weather closures.
  • Open houses, Fall Festival, etc.
  • School calendar

Communication:

  • All teacher/classroom communication via Parent Square App.
  • Use app for newsletters, field trip forms, after school activities, instant messaging.
  • Grades (3–8): Facts Family Portal or FACTS Family App (Android/iPhone).
  • For help, contact the school office.

Volunteer:

  • All volunteers must complete training and pass a background check (valid for 3 years).
  • Start early; it takes time!
  • Volunteer Background Check Form
    • Choose Southern Union, Georgia Cumberland Conference, and Coble Elementary School.
